Guildford Castle VR is an interactive documentary-style experience available on steam, as of right now, it has "very positive" (100%) reviews.
I was initially brought on as a vegetation artist, but I moved into terrains and photogrammetry and eventually held the Lead Technical Artist position. In my role as lead, I helped to establish artistic pipelines for photogrammetry, foliage and overarching level construction, and was also responsible for ensuring the levels remained optimized enough to run at 90FPS in VR, which meant carefully monitoring drawcalls, tri-counts, shader complexity, vram and memory usage. This was no mean feat, since Guildford Castle VR contains the highest fidelity photogrammetry models to ever make it into a shipping title, as well as incredibly dense foliage and a very large recreation of medieval Guildford.
I also had a hand in gameplay systems, UI and blueprints, squashing bugs and estimating timelines, while trying to support the other artists with feedback and direction.
